Credit Card Processing - Do you provide online credit card processing?
  Not at this time. We will be happy to assist with obtaining a merchant account with the company of your choice or recommend a few that some of our clients use.
WebMail - How do I check my email using the WebMail Service?
  Linux Hosting Clients:
1. In a web browser, go to http://www.yourdomainname.com/webmail
(e.g. http://www.columbusweb.net/webmail).

2. Select your preferred WebMail program.

3. When prompted, enter your user name (your email address) and password.
  Windows Hosting Clients:
1. In a web browser, go to http://mail.yourdomainname.com:8383
(e.g. http://mail.columbusweb.net:8383).

2. When prompted, enter your user name (your email address) and password.
Blocking SPAM (LINUX hosting plans only) - How do I block SPAMMERS?
  1. In a web browser, go to http://www.yourdomainname.com/cpanel
(e.g. http://www.columbusweb.net/cpanel).

2. When prompted, enter your user name and password.

3. Click on the MAIL icon, then click on the SPAM ASSASSIN link.

4. Check the status of the SPAM ASSASSIN. If the status is DISABLED then click on the ENABLE SPAM ASSASSIN button. Once this is done, click on the HOME button.

5. Click on the MAIL icon, then click on the E-MAIL FILTERING link.

6. Click on the ADD FILTER link.

7. Select what methods of filtering you want. To filter all mail that SpamAssasin has marked as spam, just choose "SpamAssassin Spam Header", "begins with", and then enter "Yes" in the box.

Linux Experience - Do I need to know Linux to manage my web site?
  No you do not. This is why we provide the control panel on our Linux-based hosting accounts, as well as several very easy to use protocols to edit your page. Such as FTP and Front Page.
Microsoft Support - Can I use .asp pages or access databases on Columbus Web Development's Servers?
  Yes, you can - but only on our Windows servers. Our Linux servers offer support for a very advanced scripting language, PHP4, and a very powerful database, MySQL. If you are not sure which server platform your website is hosted on, please contact our support staff.
SSL and SSH - What's the difference between SSL and SSH?
  SSL is a secure method for web transfer. SSH is a secure shell protocol, used for shell functions. Think of it as a secure telnet.
Login & Password - How do I change my login or password?
  You can change your login name and password by contacting our office or by submitting a request using our User Name and Password Modification form. Your password can be modified in the Password section of your control panel for Linux hosting plans.
Email Settings - I need to configure my mail reading program so I can access my email. What are the proper settings?

Adult Content - Do you allow adult content on your servers?
 
  Adult content is banned from Columbus Web Development shared hosting servers as discussed in our Web Hosting Terms of Service.
